  1. Recently we had my daughters engagement at Elevations. It was not only a superb venue for an auspicious occasion but it was made special by the staff being very obliging in every way. Elevations has always been an icon venue, it has had a few changeovers re management but luckily the service has never changed.

  2. Brett, we are very grateful to you and your wonderful chef Joel, and team, for the superb meal we enjoyed at ELEVATION on New Year’s Eve. Absolutely delicious trevally served over a tagine all on a bed of coriander couscous, and wow! What a beautiful pannacotta you served us for dessert. And then there’s the view!

Most importantly, we thank you both for CARING ENOUGH to make food that I could eat, because with my dietary constraints (Tyramine allergy) I’ve even had a Mission Bay chef at Kahve’s pull faces at me thinking he wasn’t seen. Joel, you were so informed and willing to take on the challenge, cheerfully, of providing something that I could eat whilst out, that you’re the best in Auckland! We drove past all the others from Ellerslie out to the Waitakeres to enjoy the warm hospitality of ELEVATION and we’ll certainly be back.

You only took over the business 6 weeks ago, so we're very impressed. Thank you very much, Brett.

  3. We address these comments to the proprietor and all potential customers of Elevation.

The view. It is stunning. Take binoculars. The service was friendly and attentive.

Against... A dear friend from overseas who I haven't seen for almost 5 years and I stopped here for lunch as part of a sortie to the West Coast. We both ordered the avocado stack w/ bean puree, tomato and fresh basil with a bowl of fries to accompany. Without any exaggeration here is a description of the plate(s) delivered to the table.

There were three half plain slices of cheap white sliced supermarket type loaf cut diagonally (total three whole slices between two people,) slightly toasted rudely stacked on the plate. Half an avocado and half a tomato, the latter of dubious quality, had been sliced and shared between the plates. Lying next to this offering on the plates was a dessert spoonful of a tasteless white puree, the sort of mush one would get if they put a tin of butter beans through a food processor. One basil leaf had been torn in half and each half leaf placed upon the tomato.

The cost for this meager meal without the fries was $26.00 Please feel free to do the maths.

Regretfully we are unable to recommend this establishment if it is sustenance that you require

I would have brought my dissatisfaction to the attention of the staff but this would have only served to further spoil my friends day beyond the embarrassment she was feeling. When asked upon our departure how we had enjoyed our meals I simply advised that we'd found them stunning.

    Peter Denton. AKL.
